A strong position in Europe and higher education in the Netherlands

The world of food in the Netherlands and Western Europe is transforming due to trends in health, sustainability and technology.

Consumers are increasingly choosing healthy, plant-based and sustainable products, driven by awareness of the environment and well-being. The call for less sugar, salt and animal products also drives innovation in the food industry. At the same time, technology is accelerating this change: new production methods, such as cultured meat and alternative proteins, and nutritional information apps are popular. In addition, legislation and regulations, such as restrictions on plastic and CO₂ emissions, are causing a shift in how food is produced, packaged and distributed. All these factors drive rapid transformation.

Together with our (international) partners in the Netherlands and Europe, we help companies with this transformation with the aim of maintaining their competitive position.

Impact within Europe

Essensor has three research centers: in the Randstad (Utrecht), Foodvalley (Wageningen) and in the Rotterdam region (Vlaardingen). On request, we can of course also test at other locations in the Netherlands. In addition, you can have research carried out in all countries in Europe through our extensive international network. In that case, a clear briefing to us is sufficient. As 'main contractor', we then ensure that the research is carried out efficiently in accordance with the Sensory Best Practices. Clear, professional and it saves you time!

Collaboration with educational institutions

Essensor has been working for years with various educational institutions, such as Wageningen University & Research, Food Innovation Academy, InHolland University of Applied Sciences, HAN, HAS, Aeres and Lentiz, in the field of sensory research. We regularly provide guest lectures, receive students for excursions at our locations, and offer internships throughout the year. In addition, students at Essensor are introduced to the practice of sensory research: many of them find a part-time job as a test assistant and thus gain valuable work experience as an extension of their studies.

Fairs

By participating in international trade fairs, Essensor continuously strengthens its competitive position and creates visibility among potential new customers and partners. Through these networks we also gain a lot of knowledge about new trends in the market and we are happy to share this with our new and existing relations.
