Smaakonderzoek.nl – a new name within sensory consumer research – focuses exclusively on supermarkets and catering wholesalers
During the sensory symposium ‘Sensory for Business’, which took place on 21 April at the Food Innovation Academy in Vlaardingen, this spin-off from ESSENSOR was launched.
A new name in this specific market segment, but also a company with a mission! “After all, sensory consumer research seems simple, but there is a lot involved. That is why it is a specific field of study at Wageningen University (Sensory Science) and moreover, this type of research requires a great deal of expertise and accuracy” says Wim Vaessen, Research Director of ESSENSOR and one of the founders of smaakonderzoek.nl. Together with his business partner Jan Willem Steunenberg, they thought it felt like the right time for this initiative.
Smaakonderzoek.nl has made volume agreements with ESSENSOR regarding the procurement of sensory capacity, consumer panels, expertise, use of hardware and software. These (purchasing) advantages ensure low prices as well as a flying start for interested customers in the supermarket & catering wholesale sector.
